Coaching

Are you stuck? Or are you drifting?

If you want to do different things, or just do things differently, coaching can help. Really good coaching clarifies muddied thoughts. Maybe it’s about taking a first step; maybe it’s gaining confidence to stride ahead.  We can unearth your solutions together with gentle challenge, accountability, and encouragement.

Nicky Marr is sitting in a sunny garden, smiling at the camera. She is wearing a blue patterned shirt over a white top and has sunglasses on her head while holding a mug. She has a laptop and notebook open next to her.

    Who Benefits?

As a ‘Whole Life Coach’ I believe personal issues (relationships, loneliness, inadequacy) can spill over into our professional lives. Similarly, difficulties at work (imposter syndrome, confidence, conflict) eat into our personal lives. The best ‘eureka’ moments as a coach are when my clients see the way forward, understand and accept their reactions and behaviour, and finally believe they are ‘enough’.

    Safe Space

Coaching is non-judgemental but can be challenging. Together we can explore patterns, goals and expectations, self-limiting beliefs and more. We can discuss inner confidence, and how to acknowledge the reality of a difficult situation. While no coach can promise a final destination, we can work on routes and signposts, and on what essentials to pack.

    Mental Health

Coaching is not a substitute for medical care or therapy, although it can feel very therapeutic. It can also, at times, be emotional and painful, especially when exploring memories. I get that. We move at your pace.

    Commitment

The success of coaching relies on your determination and readiness to change. There might be ‘homework’ between sessions, to help you deepen or clarify thinking. There are no rules, but I encourage a minimum of six sessions. Lifetime habits can’t often be changed overnight. (But we can try!)

Fancy a Walk?

I offer effective and efficient online appointments so there’s no wasted travel time. But if you’re local to Inverness, you might prefer a walking session; many people find that if their bodies are active, their minds can think more clearly. I’ll literally be walking alongside you as you choose your new path. The awkwardness of long silences fades away in the fresh air. Again, we move at your pace.
